A Rainy Overcast Wednesday...Perfect Camera Day

Woke up early today...around six in the morning...it was a dreary, drizzly overcast day with heavy gray slate skies as it threatened to rain.  In short, it was a perfect time to grab my camera and go out looking for things to photograph.  Saw six deer, took photographs of them, but alas my lens is just not mighty enough to do them justice, so not going to share those but I did get some shots that I am quite happy with.  Hope they are enjoyed.

9/22..Saturday Picks On First Day of Fall

Woke up early yesterday and headed out the door at just after ten to take a friend of mine (who owns the local bar) to the train station in Middletown.  Decided to grab my camera on the first day of fall and snap some pictures on the way back.  The day was progressing nicely when Murph's Law reared its ugly head.  Pulling out of the driveway of an abandoned house my muffler fell off ending my little soujourne out and about.  Here are a few of the shots that I captured.

Windows...A Recurring Subject

This is one of the windows I photographed a bit ago...windows, especially ones in old decaying homes are a recurring theme/subject matter of mine.  Old tattered curtains fluttering through a broken pain, maybe a peek inside to belongings left behind...each of them speaks to me, can almost hear the voices of the former inhabitants speaking of times long past.

Along The Trails Edge and Other Summer Shots

Though these are not shots taken on this day, they are ones I have snapped along the trails edge when I go walking through the woods, or shots I found while out tromping around during the summer months of this year.  Nature provides us with such wondrous eye candy when we but take the time to see with our minds quite and our hearts open.  Hope you enjoy.

A Beautiful Overcast Day and Visions Softly Creeping

Not sure why, but have always felt at home driving around and about the countryside alone, my lens my constant companion as I wait for pictures to call out my name, begging me to stop the car and record the vision, capturing a part of the object's slowly decaying history, perhaps capturing a part of its story.  Below are some of the pictures I captured today while on a trip over to Liberty NY and back again.

Out of all the shots that called out to me today, these are the ones I feel worth a share with those who might happen upon this space.  I do not photograph every day, and sometimes weeks go by where the spirit just does not move me, but when it does, you'll find my efforts here in this little blog.  Have a great day.
